About Me

Originally from Tokyo, Japan, I’m an Angeleno by way of New York and San Francisco. The daughter of a Japanese mother and Caucasian American father, I grew up attending The American School In Japan while competing nationally as a figure skater and playing the violin and piano. My first job in media was as a voice-over actor and singer for animated children’s shows for NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster.

I then attended Phillips Exeter Academy for high school in New England before graduating from New York University with a degree in Psycholinguistics and a minor in entertainment and media business. My marketing career began at Showtime Networks in New York, and then I moved to San Francisco where I transitioned to the agency-side, working at Wunderman on the Microsoft Mobile account. While missing NYC and the entertainment industry, I stepped into an acting class. A few commercials and small roles later, I made the move to Los Angeles where I’d work a few years serving tables, hosting spirits tastings, and working at a wine store in Beverly Hills while pursuing acting (I really took “starving artist” to heart…).

By some stroke of luck, I left the instability and chaos of production work and returned to the corporate world on March 1, 2020 at a Japanese marketing & PR agency in Los Angeles. I scratched my creative itch by producing and hosting two seasons of the podcast Ms. Money Moves - featured in Yahoo! Finance and CreditCards.com - to empower women with financial literacy and open conversations about money.

I then made the leap to be the the first employee and Head of Marketing at luxury automotive e-commerce startup Motorenn. I got to drive every teenage boy’s dream car - Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche - while diving head first into startup life, tackliong everything from fundraising and strategy building to UX design (and even washing cars).

Today, I’ve combined everything I’ve learned about hospitality, marketing, and production to focus my efforts on my marketing & media firm, MTS Media. I’ve had the chance to work on some incredible projects, including doing photography for nonprofits that have been published in local news outlets, producing the first-ever Asian Creator Awards in Los Angeles (captured by Getty Images and featured in Forbes), and producing webinars for financial firms featuring CEOs of global corporations.

I’m also proud to launch Merobebe, where I work to elevate women through wine with a weekly newsletter, in-person events, and more to come. Our inaugural Wine, Women & Wisdom event in Beverly Hills was featured in LA Weekly and attended by an inspiring group of founders, CEOs, and industry leaders, all gathered to connect and elevate each other over woman-owned wines. With more events planned for 2025, we’re expanding our reach to continue building community and celebrating women.

When I’m not nose deep in a wine book or glass, I’m suffocating my cats with love, trying to keep my plants alive, and binge-watching TV with my husband.
